“ This was my first time trying a mochi donut and I am hooked!! The employee taking my order was super kind and helpful! I tried the lilikoi, tiramisu, cookies and cream, and the black sesame. They were so delicious and most importantly, very fresh! Can't wait to come back! At $3 a piece, the price is super fair! ”
“ Came on a weekday to order a dozen donuts. Luckily there was only one person in front of me because the service is slow. Your items are hand dipped to order. As I was waiting for my order to be dipped, 3 people came in and thr person took their order. Since I was in a rush, this irritated me a bit but there was nothing I could do... the tip didn't seem to make any difference. In any case, the mochi donuts were good. I would reorder black sesame and lilikoi. As for ambiance, there isn't much to the ambiance. You just walk up to the register and order, then stand around and wait or stare at the bulletin board. ”
“ The donuts themselves are great. Soft and chewy like mochi and the toppings are spot on. Not too much on top and the tiramisu was definitely a good choice. They have seasonal flavors and they make the donuts as you order them so they're hot when you receive them. I also asked if they still have malasadas, but they don't have them anymore :( Workers are nice and helpful when I asked for help deciding between two flavors. Not really a great place to eat inside, but the seating outside is ample as is parking. I did notice there was a deal online for $2.50 donuts, but if you ordered in store it was $3. So maybe I should've just ordered it online instead of in store? Also I think if they switched their Hawaii local food drive through with their store front, it could possibly make more sense! (Quick drive through donuts, drinks, and musubis sound pretty good haha.) ”
“ I stopped by this place with my boyfriend on a Monday evening and there were a few people ahead of me. My boyfriend and I are huge mochi donut fans and this place did not disappoint! We tried almost all the flavors: -Black Sesame Mochi Donut -Lilikoi (Passion Fruit) Mochi Donut -Cookies & Creme Mochi Donut -Pandan Mochi Donut -Matcha Mochi Donut -Ube Mochi Donut And our favorite has to be the black sesame one! The donuts are not too sweet and the perfect amount of chewiness. ”
“ Really fresh and tasty donuts! I watched as the workers made them and dipped them fresh as they packaged it up. I was here for a yelp event and got a variety of flavors which I thought were mostly good. The matcha one had a perfect amount of matcha bitterness that I liked without being too sweet. The cookies and cream / ube / pandan ones had flavors you'd expect but I appreciated that they also weren't overwhelmingly sweet. The lilikoi one was interesting and I personally don't think the flavor works too well but that's just a personal preference. Overall solid donuts ”
“ I went in on a Tuesday midday before Thanksgiving. It was quiet in the store but others came in after me. It was easy to park near by which wasn't always the case when Rowhouse was nearby especially with all the restaurants. I was greeted promptly. I was a ke to ask a couple questions due to allergies and quickly got responses. Staff seemed knowledgeable but also did double check on ingredients just in case which I appreciate. The strawberry soy hojicha was tasty. I've never had it before anywhere else so I don't have a comparison. The sweetness of the strawberry balanced the drink. The strawberry was a bit thicker like a preserve. I'd definitely try again and other things. ”
“ I came around 6:30 pm and ordered the tiramisu mochi donut. The staff was very friendly and made my donut fresh to order. It was the first time trying a mochi donut that was still hot. The fresh mochi donut was really crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, not as chew as when it is cooled down. I was a bit surprised when I bit into it as I was expecting it to be soft and chewy all around. I think I preferred my donut cooled down a bit more as the flavors would settle and would be more chewy. I think it was still too hot for me to taste the tiramisu flavor, tho I do remember it being pretty good when it was cooked down. There are no seating's in the store, but you could find some just a few step outside by the fountain. ”
“ They released their December flavors, so I got: Black Sesame: for my mom since that's her fav flavor Lilokoi: cuz it was so good the last time I tried it Dark Chocolate Peppermint: kinda wish it was a permanent flavor Cookie Butter: didn't rlly taste much flavor to it. ”
“ I grabbed some mochi donuts here with my partner on a Monday night right before closing, yet had a great experience! The place itself is small with no indoor seating, but there is a beautiful mural and lots of trinkets inside. Our server kindly took our order and we waited about 10 minutes before getting our warm donuts. I thought they were going to be cold since we came before closing, but was really appreciative how they made a new batch for us! We got two lilikoi, one pandan, one black sesame, one pumpkin spice, and one apple cinnamon. The lilikoi was really tart and sweet. Pandan was also sweet with a slightly artificial pandan flavor. Pumpkin spice and apple cinnamon were their holiday flavors, and they were warm and accurate to their description. My favorite was black sesame; it was nutty and not super sweet. I would definitely recommend this place to a friend for mochi donuts! ”
“ Ambiance Quick grab and go spot for orders. There's a shelf with merchandise and lobby area to wait for the order to be completed. Customer Service Although there was a line of other customers ahead of me, I was greeted by the staff upon entering Modo. There were two employees working and fresh batches of donuts came out quickly for all of the customers waiting. Food Churro Cookies n' Cream Lilikoi Pandan Pumpkin Spice Ube The donuts were freshly made and piping hot. The churro donut was coated in a sugar seasoned blend. The cookies n' cream donut had a nice light layer of white chocolate with cookie bits. The likikoi had a very prominent tart coating. Both the pandan and pumpkin spice coating was very light in the flavor profile. The Ube coating was on the sweeter side. All of the donuts were chewy and not too sweet. There are seasonal flavors that are available on the menu. Location The current location is next door to Chipotle. Parking can be a bit tricky during peak hours as it is location in a shared plaza with many other businesses. There's a new location in the same plaza that is being finalized and has a drive through. ”
